Plant Health Care
Plant Health Care is a holistic approach to tree and plant maintenance that doesn't rely solely on treating the obvious symptoms, but instead finds the underlying problem and removes or corrects it, thereby changing the environment and allowing the landscape to flourish. Nature First emphasizes this type of preventive care rather than a continual reliance on pesticide sprays.
For example, we did a root crown inspection on a Monterey Pine and found crown rot developing. The roots were not compromised enough to require removal of the tree. The inspection and resulting trunk spray to protect against bark beetle cost $480.00. The other option would have been to take no action until the situation became hazardous enough to recommend removal. The cost for removal, not including all the required permits and reports, would have exceeded $2,300.00.
The preventive approach is the key to successful plant health care. Furthermore, safety is extremely important in all of our applications and we prefer to use non-carcinogenic pesticides.
